ed Alert has to be one of the best and most popular games.
After having a tired day, there is nothing better than an easing game of Red
Alert. Strategy is what makes a game fun to play against others. I'm sure
that we all have our favourite weapon in Quake, to blast them baddies out of
existance. In Red Alert, there is an infinate way of winning a game.
No game is the same!
Playing it on your own is fun, but masacreting fellow colleages on the LAN
or people you've never met in your life, over the internet, is another
world.
Customising your Red Alert to make it more challenging is another option.
There are many third party programs that let you make changes to RA.
Here are two changes that can easily be done with out any experience of
programming at all:
Download a "Rules.ini" file and edit
it to change an almost endless list of possible settings. It allows both subtle
and drastic changes to the way the game is played.
Do you Find the Computer too easy? Then edit the AI levels.
Have you totally messed it up? Then delete the rules.ini file and say no more.
Creating exciting maps can also add a new edge to a game.
Is there anyone who hasn't even thought of using the map editor?
Check out the map editor now!
Go on. In your RA directory load up either: eddos.exe or edwin.exe
and create yourself a map. It doesn't have to be large, but it must look good.
There is no point in playing a map that is boring and doesn't look the part.
